This past sunday the seniors travelled to Desertmartin in an attempt to follow up on their fantastic opening day victory over Craigbane.
The match began as a scrappy affair with the home side opening the scoring from a free-kick after three minutes. On the resulting kick out though the ball eluded all the mid fielders and was captured by Ryan Mullan who went on a mazy run before kncking over a delightful point. Drumsurn's superior fitness and composure came to the fore in the following period, on nine minutes a pinpoint pass from Ciaran Mullan found Mark McLaughlin in space and with plenty of time he stroked over Drumsurn's second point. On the resulting kick out Damien Canning broke the ball to Ciaran mullan who again was the provider as his pass sent Pierce McNickle clear to score Drumsurns third point.

A Drumsurn mistake let the home side in for their second point on nineteen minutes but Drumsurn were well on top at this stage. After a good run from Ciaran Mullan he found Pearse Mcnickle who sent over his second point to put Drumsurn five points up after 21 minutes.
The home side awoke from their slumber and following a quickly taken free kick catching Drumsurn napping they hit the back of the net and brought themselves right back into the game. Two quick points from the home side had the scores level going into injury time but following good work from both Ciaran and Martin Mullan they combined to set up Micheal Coll who put drumsurn a point up and Paul butcher added another point to have Drumsurn two clear at the break
