Our club was represented at Under 16 and 18 County levels by five club members in 2010.
Aine Murray was a member of the Derry U-16 team that won Ulster and All Ireland titles. Aine was a valuable member of the team, contributing through out the campaign playing and making her mark. Aine was one of the younger squad members and is eligible to play at this level next year, what a great achievement.
Richael Archibald, Emer McAtear and Erin Murray won Ulster and All Ireland titles at U-18 level for the County. The three girls proved themselves to be valuable panel members throughout the year. Richael is also eligible at this level for the 2011 season so has a chance to grab herself a 2nd All Ireland title.
Michelle Friel was part of the County U-16 management team that helped deliver the two titles in 2010. Michelle is a valuable member of our Club and County coaching setup and in 2010 was also recognised for her voluntary contribution to sport.
St. Matthew's Club and the girls' families should be very proud of what they have achieved in 2010 at County Level.
The girls received their winners medals at a Celebration presentation dance in the Elk along with their teammates.
