The seniors travelled the short distance on Saturday evening to play in the semi-final of the James O’Hagan Cup and ran out winners on a score line of 2-14 to 1-08. The victory means they will now meet the red and white of Sarsfields Ballerin in the final. The victory came at a huge cost as young Daryl Mullan was lead from the field of play after 20 minutes having suffered a broken arm.
A brace of goals from Pierce McNickle one in each half sealed the Wolfhounds fate and had it not been for the goal post the impressive McNickle could have scored a third.
Christopher Harbinson and Michael Archibald constantly broke out of defence and were the instigators of many attacking moves. Up front the forwards looked confident and clinical, but there is always room for improvement.
